"She screamed MOUSE!"

Ellee was commanded to "get" the bacon that rolled under the china cabinet during a somewhat rowdy dinner. Daddy said, :"get the broom!" She got the broom. Using it was useless. It was true, she needed to go in by hand. After extracting several fuzzy objects and a gargantuan dustball, she grabbed "the bacon." Or, at least she thought.....she pulled it out, and to her disgust, threw the seemingly innocent object across the room and jumped wildly into mommas lap---it was a dead mouse. And who knows how old. Life. Life on the farm.

Facts on domesticated rats and mice.

Domesticated rats make excellent pets for children and adults alike. We have 2 pet rats. They are highly intelligent (being the most used in studies for intelligence and psychology research), clean, and very sociable. They interact with their owners the same as dogs and cats do and may be easily trained. Although rodents are nocturnal (sleeping during the day and active at night), rats will quickly learn to adjust their schedule and be ready to come out and play when you get home from school or work. Pet rats and mice require no vaccinations and carry no diseases. They also do not make any noise nor need to be walked every day (although they love to go out with you when you visit friends!). Watching mice play can be a lot of fun. They are great stress reducers and are equivalent to having a tank of fish. Our rats sit on our kids school books, or shoulders while they study-life on the farm.
