I've decided that our family and friends are having an "Old Fashioned" Thanksgiving this year. We will start by reading a short story by Louisa May Al

This will be one of my first recipes, I'll let you know how it goes.

Yellow Crook Neck Squash
Ingredients:
4 small-medium yellow squash
2 Tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/8 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup water

Instructions:
1. Wash and slice squash into 1/2-inch slices. Put water into saucepan and add squash.

2. Put butter on top of squash and sprinkle seasonings on top. Cover with tight-fitting lid.

3. Heat on medium or medium-high heat until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes. (Don't overcook or Squash may get mushy).

4. Uncover, stir, and serve.
